Edit: A lot, and I mean A LOT of people think I'm bashing Furries and such. I'm not. This is simply how -I- see things. It insults ME to be called a furry. Understand? Thank you. I also must bring to everyone's attention that half the people who have seen this have agreed with ME. If you don't have something nice to say about this, then just bug off. I'm not insulting furries, some of my best friends are "furry", but don't call me one. Capiche?!

You know. i don't care what most of you beleive. I have my own beleifs. Furries and Fursonas ARE NOT the same thing to me. A furry is an anthro character with fur. they ARE NOT anthro characters with scales, or anything but fur. A furry can NOT be a fish-type persona.

The Term "Furry" points out the following things to me:
1) Sex. Most furry pics I've seen. and i repeat MOST are in yiff pics. Go figure.
2) Unreal, untrue. Furry is in no way related to the real you. It's just a furry character that you create to express yourself with. I'm not a furry, I don't have a furry.
3) Too humanesque. While I like anthros, and some furries, It upsets me when they are given perfect human anatomy with a tail and an animal head. This isn't right, and it definetly isn't realistic... isn't your "representation" supposed to be at LEAST anatomically correct?
4) These are the ONLY things that the term "furry" says to me.

The term "Fursona" points out the following things to me:
1) Real - in a sense. The fursona is what REPRESENTS you, in a sense, it IS you. You draw what you feel comes from the inside, and that is what is translated on the paper and on the screen.
2) Symbolism. A fursona symbolizes so much about you. It's designs and colors show your moods, personality, past, future, and so much more. everything about it has different aspects of your life.
3) Diversity. Fursonas can be ANYTHING. Don't let the term "fur" here confuse you. Fursonas are NOT furries! A FURSONA can be a dragon, a pig, a whale, a fish, whatever you want. It's what represents you.
4) Differenciency(sp?). You can actually express yourself with more than one fursona, by having what most people call an alter-sona or an alterfursona. These are just the "other" side of you, or the opposite side of your fursona.
5) Fursonas can be quad or anthro - as long as they represent you and how you truelly feel.
6) Venting. when you draw an image to vent, do you draw a random furry? Not if you have a fursona. =3 You draw YOU in YOUR interpretation with how YOU feel.
7) Soul. A LOT of people who have fursonas are also therian, which you can look up online case I'm not going to describe it here. most fursonas have a soul, and are a part of your essence, and therefore really are a representation of you.
8) More Diversity. Your fursona can have alternate forms; were, quad, anthro, chibi - anything you want it to have. As it represents you, these different forms can also help to interpret your different sides in a better and easier way.
9) Oneness. Do you draw a "furry" with your trademarks on it? Of course not. your fursona has your jewelry, your clothes, or your wanted jewelry and clothes. They represent you, and therefore wear the same things you wear/would wear in reality.

That's all. To me, a fursona is so much more than a furry.

STOP referring to peole with fursonas as "furries" please. ITS UNTRUE and very insulting to those who beleive like me. *glare*
